This is a two-year post-doctoral position in Rennes (France), followed by an additional year depending on the progress of the project.

The person recruited will carry out his/her research within the ERC project Groups of Algebraic Transformations, whose main themes concern
- groups of birational transformations, especially problems at the interface between group geometry and birational geometry;
- dynamics of (semi)groups of polynomial or rational transformations (arithmetic, algebraic and holomorphic aspects);
- the algebraic geometry of varieties that can admit an infinite number of automorphisms, in particular rational varieties and Calabi-Yau varieties.

Any person competent in one of these topics can apply.

The person recruited will be hosted at the Institut de Recherches Mathématiques de Rennes (IRMAR), which includes many researchers in group theory, algebraic geometry, analytical geometry and dynamical systems.

The planned start date of the contract is September 1, 2023.
