This event will take place during two weeks at VVF (Village vacances / holiday camp) in Piriac sur Mer on the Brittany cost and close to the historic city of Guérande.
This will be the occasion to host two important events
GDR Differential Geometry and Mechanics meeting
The plenary meeting of the GDR Géométrie Différentielle et Mécanique will take place from June 2nd to June 5th 2020. It will be the time to exchange and discuss the last work concerning the GDR’s thematics :
- Constitutive laws and invariants
- Poisson geometry, integrability and mechanics
- Geometrical formulation of the mechanics
- Geometrical integrators
Summer school Geometric Modelling in Solid Mechanics
The international thematic school on Geometric Modeling in Solid Mechanics will be held from June 8th to June 12th 2020. This school aims at training young researchers as well as confirmed ones to these transversal approach. Four courses of around 8 hours each will be delivered by confirmed speakers:
- Patrizio Neff : Scales in solids
- Peter Olver : Symmetry, conservation laws, and moving frames
- Patrick Verovic : Finsler geometry for mechanics
- Arash Yavari : Geometric nonlinear elasticity and anelasticity
