The 11th Rencontres de Statistique will focus this year on statistical tools and methods, and on data science, applied to health. Held as part of the "Maths, Bio & Health" thematic semester at the Centre Henri Lebesgue, these days will bring together researchers in statistics, epidemiology, genetics and biostatistics to explore the methodological challenges raised by health data.

Health data have indeed become massive, heterogeneous and complex: longitudinal cohorts, medico-administrative databases, genomic data, sensor signals, epidemiological surveillance data. Analyzing them raises specific statistical questions (causal inference from observational data, joint modeling of trajectories and events, inference for stochastic processes, high dimensionality, fusion of heterogeneous sources) on which the reliability of clinical and epidemiological conclusions directly depends. The talks will cover a broad range of these approaches, from epidemic dynamics models to the analysis of longitudinal and functional data, including statistical genetics and treatment evaluation.

The event is aimed at researchers and academics, as well as PhD students and master's students, for whom the talks will be introduced in an accessible way. It will also provide an opportunity for exchanges between participants and students in the Statistics Master's programs at UBS.
