In this talk we shall derive the heat and the Stokes equations from a particle system in the limit of an infinite number of particles, in the so-called Boltzmann-Grad limit. The key argument is the derivation of a linear Boltzmann equation for very large times. This is a joint work with Thierry Bodineau and Laure Saint-Raymond.
